| In
1919, MOHIREI UESHIBA, THE FOUNDER OF AIKIDO, was living
in Hokaido and received news that his father had become
very ill. |

During
the train trip to see his father in Tanabe, he hears
another passenger speaking enthusiastically about
the religion OOMOTO and the teaching and miraculous
healings of its charismatic leader, the VENERABLE
ONISABURO DEGUCHI.

Thinking of his father, UESHIBA-SENSEI decided to
detour to Ayabe and stays there for few days. |
| |
|
While seeking prayers for his father's recovery, he
was quickly captivated by the VENERABLE ONISABURO DEGUCHI. |
| |
| From
this meeting, a spiritual relation was born between
the OOMOTO and AIKIDO. |
| |
|
| |
|

| |
|
|
After
that meeting, |
UESHIBA-SENSEI goes immediately to Tanabe, only to
discover that this father had already passed away. |
|
|
With
the death of his father, by whom he had great affection,
he enters in a state of deep depression. |
|
|
Passing
through this difficult moment, he announces that he
would go to establish in Ayabe with his family. |
In
the Spring of 1920, he goes to Ayabe with his family. |

| In
Ayabe he places his whole energy in the work and study
of the Oomoto religion. |
| |
|
He studied the precepts and developed the control of
the KOTOTAMA, dedicating himself to the meditation and
the study of Budo. |

| The
VENERABLE ONISABURO DEGUCHI perceives the ability of
MORIHEI UESHIBA in the Martial Arts and motivates him
to transform part of Oomoto headquarters in a Dojo. |

UESHIBA-SENSEI accompanied the VENERABLE ONISABURO
DEGUCHI in many trips and was by his side during the
most critical moments of the diffusion of the OOMOTO
religion. |
